romain ALESSANDRINI IS A FIGHTER.

Watch the diminutive Frenchman on the field and you can see that he gives everything he can each moment that he’s on the field. His frantic pace has helped him flourish with the LA Galaxy as he won the 2017 LA Galaxy MVP and has scored five goals and four assists this season.

But where does that energy come from?

“I think since I started to play, I was that guy. The players that I would play against were often bigger than me, so I had to do what I can. They’d try to hurt me, so I had to develop that strength. I kept this style of play because it works for who I am.

“My career hasn’t been easy because I’ve dealt with injuries and adversity, each time I needed to come back and that’s why I kept this mentality. Every day I try to do the best that I can. I need this to perform.”

One of the first people in every morning. Romain arrives each day at 8 am to begin a pre-workout session before training.

Alessandrini has seven goals this season in his second year with the club after winning the 2017 LA Galaxy Most Valuable Player Award. He has four goals and four assists in his last five games.

"It’s been the story of my life: Every time, I have to prove to myself and to prove to others that I belong. Every day for me is a fight. It’s a battle and I have to win."
